The Hollywood celeb couple, Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes, who are expecting their first baby together, looked head-over-heels in love as they arrived in Australia for the funeral of media mogul Kerry Packer. They held hands as they stepped on to a boat in Sydney Harbour, and heavily pregnant Katie was spotted passionately kissing Tom.

American women spent nearly $17 billion on fashion footwear between October 2004 and October 2005, according to The NPD Group. Sounds like a lot, it should–it’s a nearly 10% increase over 2003 spending.
The female shoe has always been an object of fascination, endowed with mythical power. And, as women from former Philippine First Lady Imelda Marcos (who possessed 1,200 pairs of shoes) to Sex and the City’s Carrie Bradshaw (who one episode realized she’d spent $40,000 on footwear, yet couldn’t afford an apartment) have shown, some women are willing to spend fortunes to be properly shod.

A low-fat diets study to almost 50,000 healthy older women found that reducing fat intake alone does not significantly reduce the risk of heart disease, stroke, breast cancer or colorectal cancer. Also in the US, the study found that reducing fats without reducing calories does not lead to significant weight loss, and its findings go against 30 years of conventional dieting wisdom.

Marcia Stefanick, a professor of medicine at the Stanford Prevention Research Centre and an author of the report said, “Just switching to low-fat foods is not likely to yield much health benefit in most women.” Read more of Question to Low-Fat Diets Value

People Magazine’s JD Heyman told that Heather Locklear discovered an e-mail containing racy and provocative pictures that was sent to Richie Sambora by a woman who is close to the couple. But Richie’s camp said he is just as upset about the pictures as Heather. According to Sambora insiders, “Nothing ever happened. He never asked for the pictures.”

Two ultra thin actresses, Keira Knightley of Pride & Prejudice and baby chubby Scarlett Johansson of Match Point are luminously naked on the fold-out cover the Vanity Fair March issue. And the third subject in the photo is Tom Ford, the handsome and decidedly gay fashion designer, who is sniffing, perhaps about to nibble, Knightley’s ear.
Ford, who resuscitated the Gucci brand and went on to invigorate the Yves Saint Laurent empire before retiring two years ago, is the Hollywood issue’s guest editor.

Olympus Fashion Week became history Friday night with the launch of Chanel designer Karl Lagerfeld’s New York collection in a downtown ballet studio.
Rosettes were decorative ploys at Vera Wang and Oscar de la Renta. Lagerfeld wrapped and layered clothes and wadded fabric into three-dimensional rolls at the waist.

70 percent of working women said they would be happy if there was no tradition of giving “obligatory chocolates” to their boyfriends or colleagues. This result comes from an Internet survey in Japan, and nearly 60 percent said they felt unhappy as Valentine’s Day approached, citing the cost and time it takes to shop for the gifts, which are finely calculated to express just the right emotions toward a boss, a colleague or a true boyfriend.
