Debra LaFave was given her freedom nearly two years after she engaged in sexual acts with a 14-year-old boy in her classroom, her house, and even in her car, in Florida. Florida prosecutors dropped molestation charges against Lafave on 22 March after the boy reported to be uncomfortable testifying on live court television.
Lafave, 25, was a middle-school teacher and the boy was one of her students at the time several molests occurred.
Lafave, a strong Christian woman (?), platinum blond, blue-eyed woman, Debra Lafave is the 25 year old school teacher, was eventually apprehended and charged with statutory rape against the delinquency of a minor. She said that she is in treatment for “mental illness” (a bipolar disorder) and was apologetic to the boy she calls a “young man.” She currently has a fiancee whom she said has unconditional love for her and has stood by her during the ordeal.
In November 2005, Lafave pleaded guilty in Hillsborough County, Florida, court to two counts of lewd and lascivious behavior. She was sentenced to 3 years under house arrest and 7 years of probation, and was required to register as a sex offender in Florida.
The odd fact is Ms. Lafave was “very remorseful” about the events that led to her arrest in June 2004 and blames a psychological disorder known as bipolar syndrome, a disorder that some would call ???mood swings.??? Lafave has bipolar syndrome which is certainly inexcusable when it comes to sexual deviance such as statutory rape. Even her ex-husband said that she was taking medication for antidepression mental health; however, if she was taking medication for antidepression then why would she blame bipolar for her actions? Was she not taking her medication that day?
When someone has bipolar syndrome that person has manic depression or in some cases a fission of personality; in other words, one minute the person is happy, and then in an instantaneous fashion the person is sad, lonely, angry, or confused.
She is blaming her mental illness on her actions but I’m wondering what mental illness Marion County is suffering from that they would allow this trash out onto the street and we all know she’ll be hopping on some other juvenile’s dick the first chance she gets.
It shouldn’t matter what her sex is and her excuse of being bipolar is a crock of shit. Bipolar and Pedophilia are two entirely different things and you can’t blame one on the other, she is obviously both.
Due to the case, Lafave has grown into a staunch media critic, claiming that reporters hound her and her family and the student she molested. Lafave has decided to take journalism courses, to which she says “God has given me a great outlet to write, and I would hope I could reach people through writing.” Lafave criticized the extensive media coverage her case received, accusing reporters of invading the privacy of her former student.
