Two days before right-hander Kris Benson was scheduled to make his Baltimore Orioles debut, his outspoken wife, Anna Benson , rescinded her divorce petition against former Mets pitcher Kris Benson. “Anna did some soul-searching over the weekend and wants to give a considerable effort to repair her marriage,” Jeffrey Bogart, Anna Benson lawyer said. “She’d like to give this a second chance, and hopefully Kris does as well.”
In an interview with the Associated Press last week, before she filed for divorce, Kris Benson said he still thinks the New York Mets traded him to Baltimore because of his wife. Just hours after The Post caught a glimpse of the brunette bombshell — looking haggard and weary as she sat with two friends on the steps of her $2 million gray stucco mansion — Anna decided to try and salvage the marriage despite the alleged infidelity of her hubby.
Anna Benson, an actress and model who has posed topless, filed for divorce in Atlanta last Thursday. The petition for divorce claimed the marriage was “irretrievably broken.” Anna Benson possibly a bigger star than her husband. She was recently on the cover of FHM magazine (wearing an Orioles cap and not much else), and she hopes to star in a reality TV show called Anna on Top.
The couple has been married for seven years and has two children. Anna Benson had sought full custody, along with child support and alimony.
