Supermodel NAOMI CAMPBELL was arrested and faces seven years in jail last Thursday after she allegedly assaulted an employee. She was was arrested at her home on Manhattan’s Park Avenue, where the incident allegedly occurred earlier following “some sort of dispute” with the woman. After her housekeeper, Ana Scolavino, was allegedly assaulted with a cellphone by the runway diva. Scolavino went to the hospital after the alleged incident and needed four stitches for an “ugly gash” on the back of her head. Another former personal assistant, Simone Craig, claimed Naomi Campbell threw a mobile phone at her in 2001.
Now the supermodel opens up to ET about her recent troubles, but she insists she is being “extorted.” Naomi Campbell denied hurling a mobile phone at her assistant on Thursday, insisting the charges were “falsely” brought against her as revenge for sacking the employee earlier on Thursday.
On the day of her arrest, Campbell released the following statement: “The allegation that I hit or in any way injured my former housekeeper is completely untrue.
“From the time she began working for me about two and one half months ago, I began questioning her about items I found missing. This morning, when I finally fired her for that and her erratic behavior, she screamed, ‘This is going to cost you a lot of money.’ After some more yelling and screaming on her part, she left the house. The next thing I knew, I got a call from the police. I have no idea how she was injured.”
Meanwhile, Naomi Campbell has been officially suspended from the Legion of Supermodels. Campbell, the British supermodel who was arrested last week for an alleged assault on her former housekeeper, has had her supermodel status revoked, pending the outcome of her court case. “The Legion Of Supermodels represents all things that are good…and sexy,” said Leagues of Supermodels chairperson Christie Brinkley, from the Legion’s headquarters in Fashion City. “Naomi’s actions are contradictory to the tenets of the Legion, and she has been put on indefinite suspension until this issue is resolved.”
She also forced to pull out of pal Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs??? reality TV cook-off, Celebrity Cooking Showdown. Campbell was set to show off her culinary skills opposite soul diva Patti LaBelle in the inaugural show, which airs on April 17. Alan Thickem show host jokes, “Naomi was booked and then got booked again, apparently at some precinct in New York.”
Comedian Rosie O’Donnell has a few words for the supermodel and wants to rumble with her. O’Donnell explains, “I just picture this cute little Mexican woman working saying, ‘Excuse me Miss Campbell can I possibly get you… ‘ and Naomi going, ‘Get away from me, bam bam bam!’ To make matters worse she had that jewel-encrusted cell phone.”
“She looks like you could snap her in two but she is a tough-a**, kick-a** woman and I would actually like to fight her. I think for all the people that she has beaten up, I think she needs a big 200 pound lesbian to kick her a**.”
