Pamela Rogers, Another Debra Lafave Female Educators Case

Another female teacher, 28-year-old former elementary school teacher, Pamela Rogers, brought a national spotlight on female educators who admittedly or are accused of having relation with underage 13 year old male students. The former schoolteacher, athlete and Miss WCW Monday Nitro was arrested this week for allegedly contacting a boy she had relation with using Myspace and its blog to solicit her former victim and his sister. Rogers was released on bond Wednesday but will be back in court in July.
On Feb. 7, 2005, Pamela Rogers is arrested and charged with 15 counts of sexual battery by an authority figure and 13 counts of statutory rape. Officials say the former teacher at Centertown Elementary had sexual contact with a 13-year-old student between November 2004 and January 2005. Rogers is freed on $50,000 bail. The same month Rogers resigns from her job as a physical education teacher.
Warren County District Attorney Dale Potter says he has offered Rogers a plea deal but declines to reveal the details of the offer on May.
August 2005, Rogers pleads no contest on four counts of sexual battery by an authority figure. She is ordered to serve nine months of a eight-year sentence. Many conditions are imposed on her probation. They include the surrender for life of her state teaching certificate, registration as a sex offender, no use of the Internet without permission from her probation officer and no contact with the student or his family. Then released released from jail early for good behavior on February 2006
Within 2 months of her release, she gets an internet account, registers a Myspace page, finds the Myspace page for the 13 year old she originally sexually assulted, and posts comments. One of her comments to the 13 years old talked about how she couldn’t wait to see him again. The site, which included child pornography as well as slurs about religion and women sexuality orientation, was created under the teacher’s name, according to Captain Rob Bredsten of the Anoka County Sheriff’s Office, which is investigating the case. She was accused of using myspace and its blog to solicit her former victim and his sister.
On her alleged MySpace page she leaves this message for her former lover :
TO NUMBER 32….. “My Plans are Your Plans….” “Nothing’s Changed….” “Say it…..say it….” Always is the word, Baby, always. Listen to “Far Away” by Nickleback…. that’s for you. But, you know… I hate hearing something that is exactly the opposite of what you have said. I hate lies. Honesty is the biggest, most important trait in people. When I find out that I have been lied to and deceived, after all the sacrifices I have made, it makes me wanna…..
Later, in another section of the page, she says this:
Also, I am not looking for a boyfriend, I am happily single and I went through a divorce about a year ago, so I am not looking for anyone…. I still do believe in LOVE, though… ;p I just think that I will wait for about 3 years before I fall into that….. Always, PJ
If the page is really hers, which seems likely given the volume of photos shown in the frontpage slideshow, it sure looks like Rogers is heading down the trail blazed by Mary Kay Letourneau. Perhaps, instead of sending her back to jail, authorities should mandate psychiatric care.
One perplexing question here is that those young female teachers convicted of sex crimes with their students all look gorgeous. Say, Debra Lafave was formally a model before she turned teacher, and the teacher re-arrested yesterday, namely Pamela Rogers Turner, was sexually appealing as well. They won’t have any problems to pull any guys in the bars. Why are they so intrigued in sexing with adolescents who are still mentally and physically developing?
