Miss USA Goes To Miss Kentucky

Tara Elizabeth Conner, 20, Miss Kentucky was crowned Miss USA by Chelsea Cooley of North Carolina, who was Miss USA 2005, in the 55th annual pageant Friday night.
Tara Elizabeth Conner, Ms. Conner, is a 20 year-old from Russell Springs, Kentucky who is studying business administration at Somerset Community College, says that pop stars may be getting too edgy for young people who see them as role models, now has a chance to be a role model herself ??? as the new Miss USA. She She will compete and represent the United States July 23 in the Miss Universe competition in Los Angeles.
“I am an easygoing, down-to- earth girl. Throughout my life, hardships and different experiences have made me a very humbled, yet strong individual,” Corner said. “It is because of these life lessons that I have become the person I am today.” She listed her hobbies as golf, skydiving, jet skiing, tubing on Lake Cumberland, rappelling, scrapbooking and watching University of Kentucky basketball.
Miss California, Tamiko Nash, 26, of Los Angeles, was first runner-up. Miss Georgia, Lisa Wilson, 26, of Rome, was second runner-up; Miss Ohio, Stacy Offenberger, 26, of Marietta, was third runner-up. Miss Florida, Cristin Duren, 24, of Panama City Beach, was fourth runner- up.
Olympic medal-winning speed skater Chad Hedrick, Donald Trump Jr. (“The Apprentice”) and shoe designer Steve Madden headlined the celebrity judging panel. Miss America Pageant on reality TV is co-owned by Donald Trump and NBC, which aired the competition. MISS USA 2005, Chelsea Cooley, crowned her successor at the conclusion of the two-hour primetime telecast, before an estimated worldwide viewing audience of more than 250 million
Since 1998, Donald Trump’s Miss Universe Organization and Miss USA have been actively involved in support of breast cancer and ovarian cancer survivors. Each year, Miss USA raises money for nationally recognized breast and ovarian cancer organizations such as the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation, the National Breast Cancer Coalition, Ovarian Cancer Research Fund, and Gilda’s Club.
