French actress Audrey Tautou is worried she has chosen the wrong career because her introvert personality clashes with celebrity life. The Da Vinci Code star shot to international fame with the bittersweet 2001 hit Amelie but the frenzied attention she garnered has left her disillusioned with the job.
According to Ireland Online, she says: “I’m a bit stubborn about not wanting to live like a celebrity and not going to film premieres and spending time with other actors. I’m still not that self-confident as a person and I don’t really expose my emotions and feelings. I’m not an open book. I’m very private.”
“I suppose I’m in the wrong profession! I don’t think I’m made for this kind of life.”
Audrey Tautou knew she was getting into the biggest film of her career. She did not know she was getting into one of the biggest — and most debated — of her generation. Although she enjoyed the Dan Brown’s book The Da Vinci Code, she did not consider auditioning for the role of Neveu at first. “I thought this character had my strong-mindedness but it didn’t go further than that. And, being 27, I thought that Sophie was older.” Read more of Audrey Tautou In The Wrong Job
For many, a trip to the doctor is a must before you start a workout program. Fitness books, videos and workout equipment almost universally offer a cautionary note to would-be exercisers: “Warning: Always consult a physician before beginning this or any exercise program.”
It’s enough to strike fear in the exercise-phobic, hinting that perhaps they’d be safer resting on their couches than doing something so risky that a doctor must sign off on it first.
At the very least, the warning begs the question: “Must we, really?”
For many people, including those who are young, healthy and already physically active, the answer is “probably not,” doctors say. And, they say, if the exercise in question is moderate, such as walking or riding a bike, most people can probably start without a doctor’s clearance. You know a new self-help book for women is a smash-hit craze when…it’s so popular that nobody you know has a copy.
Seems like everyone’s heard about the book He’s Just Not That Into You: the No-Excuses Truth to Understanding Guy. Subsequently, it shot to the top of the Amazon.com and Barnes & Noble charts, onto the New York Times bestseller list, and out of American bookstores faster than you could say Simon & Schuster. The book has built-in cachet beyond even the Oprah factor: Author Liz Tuccillo was a writer for ”Sex and the City,” and co-author Greg Behrendt was a consultant for the HBO comedy.
Advice From A Guy Who Broke Up
The concept for the book sprang from a well-remembered “Sex” scene: The women are dissecting Miranda’s date from the previous night, offering their theories on way he declined her invitation into her apartment afterward. Carrie’s boyfriend proceeds to squash their optimism with his manly insight: “He just not that into you.” Read more of When Men Say They’ll Call Then Don’t
On Wednesday, the BBC learned that over 10,000 women in Northern Ireland are waiting for breast screening in the Northern Health Board area, it has been revealed. The Southern Board has revealed 4,000 women have not got the required screening and in the Eastern Health Board area, a further 2,700 are awaiting appointments. Under a national programme, all women aged 50 to 64 should be offered breast screening every three years. However, most women in Northern Ireland are falling outside that time limit.
The news actually comes after a consultant radiologist, who worked at three local hospitals, was suspended following concerns over his clinical judgement. A review of former patients revealed that 17 women had with breast cancer were wrongly given the all-clear.
Since then, the Northern Board suspended its screening programme and it is not expected to resume again until August. Read more of The World Is Still Fighting Women Breast Cancer

Britney Spears has reportedly banished her husband, Kevin Federline, to the basement. They’ve been married for 20 months and have their second child on the way, but speculation is growing that Britney Spears and Kevin Federline are leading increasingly separate lives.
Britney’s spokesman refused to deny claims that she thinks her second marriage is over and wants a divorce despite the fact that our own Payton O’Brien posted a poem that reportedly appeared only briefly on Britney’s site (apparently written by her) before being systematically yanked.
