Avril Lavigne married her “Sk8tr Boi”, pop-punk Sum41 singer Deryck Whibley, at private mostly traditional ceremony, complete with petal pink chiffon dresses for her four bridesmaids, in Montecito, California with the attendance of some 110 guests. The couple tied the knot at Villa Lilybelle, Lavigne wore a Vera Wang gown, carried white roses and was walked down the aisle by her father as Mendelssohn’s “Wedding March” played.
Began with the Catholic ceremony at 5pm, lasted only 20 minutes and was witnessed by close friends and family members. No celebrities were invited. Once they were pronounced man and wife, guests tossed rose petals at the newlyweds as they walked back up the aisle.
A witness tells American publication Us Weekly: “Avril looked beautiful. Her hair was very bright blonde. Her dress was simple, but elegant.” Lavigne’s bridesmaids wore Vera Wang draped petal pink crepe chiffon gowns, while Whibley and his groomsmen wore tuxes from the Hugo collection by Hugo Boss.
After exchanging vows & kissing, the couple ran down the aisle & they danced their first dance as husband & wife to the tunes of The Goo Goo Dolls. “It was a short, classy ceremony with the sound of helicopters droning overhead carrying photographers trying to get a shot of the newlyweds, and most of the people there were friends and family,” the source told The Canadian Press. “They both seemed really happy.”
The reception, coordinated by celebrity wedding planner Mindy Weiss, was held in a tent of flowing red fabric, with red roses and candles everywhere – in a semi-gothic theme – with a light jazz band providing music. A DJ also played, and Walker performed a couple of songs toward the end of the evening, the source said.
Following the ceremony was an outdoor cocktail hour and then a reception, complete with a sit-down dinner under a tent on the estate. The reception was said to have had an all-red theme as oppossed to the wedding ceremony, which was completely done up in white.
Their first song as husband and wife was expected to be the Goo Goo Dolls??????Iris,??? reported the celebrity maggie.
Exclusive photos and details of the Avril Lavigne wedding will carried by Global TV’s Entertainment Tonight Canada on the program Monday evening.
Lavigne, 21, of Napanee, Ont., and Whibley, 26, of Toronto have been dating since early 2004 and bought a house in Los Angeles later that year. They became engaged in Venice, Italy, in 2005 while Lavigne was on a European tour. Lavigne is working on her third album and recently gave voice to the possum Heather in the film “Over the Hedge.”
Seriously, as long as she doesn’t puff up and start popping out little tattooed and pierced peepers, all will be right. According to People Mag, Avril and Deryck held a rehearsal party on Friday. Best of luck you two crazy kids. ![]()

Avril is sure to regret having an obscene tatoo after she “grows up”. I can’t think why anybody would want the f word tatooed on their body.
