Look at this post title and tell me what you think.. when Paris Hilton insists she is carrying on the legacy of legendary blondes like Marilyn Monroe and Lady Diana, Princess of Wales and has declared herself this decade’s “iconic blonde” in a startling new interview.
Despite being more noted for her shopping and sex tape exploits rather than any particular talent Hilton claims, “There’s nobody in the world like me. I think every decade has an iconic blonde including Marilyn Monroe or Princess Diana and right now I’m that icon,¡± she was quoted by UK’s Sunday Times, as saying.
“I read these stories about me starting fights and saying stupid stuff. I’ve become a cartoon.”
“Nobody seems to get that how I am on The Simple Life is a character. I even know what a Wal-Mart is.”

Paris also compares herself to another “iconic blonde” and fellow reality TV star Jessica Simpson. She claims both are good at playing up to the ‘dumb blone’ stereotype, whilst actually manipulating it to their own advantage.
“I play dumb like Jessica Simpson plays dumb. But we know exactly what we’re doing. We’re smart blondes,” she said.

She also says that actually she is a savvy business woman. “There’s a lot of heiresses out there and I don’t see any of them doing what I’ve done. It’s Paris Hilton plc, baby! I have so many projects - bags, fragrances, make-up. I go round the world every three days, designing and personally approving it all. I’ve got movies to make, a tour, TV shows. Every day of my life is scheduled until the end of 2007.” Sunday Times quoted Hilton as saying.
Hilton boasted about her knack for trading on her famous name. The Simple Life star, whose soon-to-released debut CD has already spawned the hit single “Stars Are Blind,” said she is acutely aware of the power she holds.

The entrepreneur and amateur porn star dismissed reports of nightclub battles with other young female stars.
“All those stories are made up. I’m non-confrontational. Certain girls just use me to get media attention,” she said. “They have their publicists call the tabloids and make something up, because a feud with Paris Hilton always gets press.”

Hilton vowed to focus on herself and her career and not on a steady relationship. “It’s really exhausting being a girlfriend. I’m always putting all my energy into some guy and I’m bored with it. I’m tired of thinking about men.”
Despite being caught on videotape with billionaire heir Brandon Davis tee-hee-ing over Davis’ slanderous comments about Lindsay Lohan, and being plastered all over the internet in less than decorous poses, Hilton claims it was all for her art and commerce.

And about her ex-boyfriend Rick Salomon, whose infamous sex video continues to haunt Hilton, even though she gets a cut of the profits from the sale of the video. Hilton said, “He did it to ruin my life, but I’ve only become stronger. It was the most horrible thing anyone’s ever done to me. It was humiliating. I have to live with it for the rest of my life.”
