She was a deceived porn actress in Body Double, a prostitute on Miami Vice (and in Stormy Monday), and a Louise Brooks-influenced woman on the wrong side of the law in Something Wild, but the real evidence that Melaine Griffith is under fire after she was snapped outside a Beverly Hills boutique lighting a cigarette for herself and then her 17-year-old daughter, Dakota. Here in the US you are not legally allowed to smoke until you’re over 18. Griffith was seen with a lit cigarette hanging out of her mouth, and was using a lighter to help her daughter spark up her own cigarette.

How dare she condone that her teenage daughter smokes. If her daughter wants to smoke then that is something she can do behind her mother’s back. For her mother to accept this kind of behaviour is nothing short of child abuse!

At least her daughter can smoke in front of her and not cop a massive guilt trip everytime. Her mother’s probably just at her wits end and gone ‘fine, smoke, whatever’ Glad her kids not on drugs or hiding something from her. Accepting a child for who they are is something you can’t even begin to estimate in its importance
Melanie is a celebrity baby in her own right (her mother is actress Tippi Hedren). She is married to actor Antonio Banderas, who is Stella’s dad. She also has a son Alexander with ex-husband Steven Bauer. Dakota’s dad is Don Johnson.
