Head Debut of Danity Kane Hit The Road

The long-awaited eponymous debut album from Danity Kane, the MTV-made band featuring La Quinta native Aubrey O’Day, drops in record stores nationwide on Aug. 22. The group???s name comes from an anime character that band member Dawn created – which I heard graphic art pays well??? just in case this music thing doesn???t work out.
Danity Kane is made up of five female vocalists and dancers, Andrea Fimbres, Shannon Bex, Wanita Woodgett, Dawn Richard, and Aubrey O’ Day, who endured two seasons of eliminations under the watchful eye of hip-hop artist/producer Diddy on the MTV series “Making the Band 3.”

We assumed we were probably the only ones over the age of 18 still following the epic journey of this prefab band and searches proved us right. Almost three-quarters of queries on the show come from the under-18 crowd. And while Diddy tried to fill out his fabulous fivesome with hotties for dudes to ogle, over 80% of the searches on the show and the band are from the ladies. This group is like a bootleg smaller version of the Pussycat Dolls. Do their weaves, powder their faces, throw some booty shorts and bikini tops on them and you will get beautiful-no doubt- but bonified bombshells who are going to make billions based on talent??? ummm Diddy try again. They are going to need more than ???one shot??? or more than one group season of MTV???s “Making the Band” to survive in the music world.

The video for the Danity Kane band???s first single, ???Show Stopper,??? is in rotation on MTV and available for viewing on MTV.com. A behind-the-scenes video, ???Making the Video,??? also is available for viewing on that Web site. Buzz on the poptastic tune is up a staggering 5,000% after the penultimate episode featured the making of the song’s video.

Expectations are high for the launch of the Danity Kane CD. It ranked No. 1 in Yahoo music searches Thursday. O’Day’s mother, Kandy Allen, said her daughter recently ranked 13 under the Yahoo Music Movers. These girls are so hot and gifted!

Danity Kane will be on MTV???s ???The Leak??? tomorrow 8/15 you can stream the whole album before it???s released! You can also stream the full album on AOL MusicNow.
The group???s first single, ???Show Stopper??? is a nicely produced, snap genre, bass-filled track, but the adlibs sound like they got a cheerleader group in the most suburban neighborhood to do them.
