Paris Hilton, Million Dollar Teenage Terrors

Paris Hilton, the Million Dollar Teenage pictureThey are blonde, beautiful and heiresses to a multi-million-dollar hotel empire, but these wild sisters are trashing the grand image of the Hilton dynasty.
Among the cream of New York debutantes the acceptable image is one of white gloves and ball gowns, tiaras and trust funds, heritage and high society. And then there are the Hilton sisters ??? shameless celebutantes and teen terrors. Paris and Nicky Hilton are the brazen blonde hotel heiresses setting Manhattan high society upside down. Whether they are upstaging strippers or cutting a swathe through the Sundance Film Festival, the Hilton girls ??? acidicly described by one observer as a pair of ???skinny-twin dancing bubblegum Barbie-doll Marilyn Monroes??? ??? send shock waves through gossip columns at every turn.

Sinfully gorgeous, with a passion for scantily clad night-crawling coast to coast, they are upsetting their blue-blooded elders with their trashy reputation. ???It???s disgraceful the way most of them act these days,??? laments one society elder. ???If they had any respect for their families, they would keep their noses clean.???
The more outrageous is Paris Hilton, aged 19, who has parleyed her household name into modeling and now a movie career. She has been romantically linked with actors Leonardo DiCaprio, Edward Furlong and boxing Oscar De La Hoya.

Hot on her Prada heels is sister Nicky, a sweet 16-year-old who looks 25 and can be seen at nightclubs smoking cigarettes and sipping champagne through a straw. Though both Lolitas are under the legal drinking age, the duo launched themselves on America???s nightlife with a vengeance last year, strutting their way past every velvet rope and into every star-studded VIP room with an open bar.
Documentary film-makers even followed them around, crowning them stars of the Los Angeles club scene in the film Guest List Only to be released later this year. ???The LA club scene is like London in the Swinging ???60s, and Paris Hilton is today???s Twiggy,??? enthuses the film???s executive producer Peter McAlevey. ???I???ve worked with Michael Douglas and Julia Roberts, and I???ve seen people come and go, but Paris has everything.???
Unapologetically multi-millionaires, the Hilton girls flaunt all they have, celebrating the grossest excesses of the American Dream.

Posing for a recent Vanity Fair magazine article the sisters stare defiantly from the pages. Beside a smouldering Nicky stands Paris in tiny hot pants, her breasts barely hidden by her blonde mane. The gold chain around her neck says it all: ???Rich.???
She???s not kidding. Their father is Ricky Hilton, aged 43, grandson of hotel tycoon Conrad Hilton, womanizing ex-husband of Zsa Zsa Gabor, whose son nicky wed and divorced Elizabeth Taylor. Their homes are scattered across the US: a huge estate in the Hamptons, an exclusive playground for the rich and famous, a giant apartment at the Waldorf Astoria on Manhattan???s Park Avenue, a Beverly Hills mansion, and all the hotel rooms they want. Paris spends most of her time in Los Angeles pursuing film roles, and last year she shared a flat with such high society room-mates as Playboy???s March and July 2000 Playmates Nicole Lenz and Jennifer Rovero.

Bewildered bluebloods blame the girls??? parents for their wildcat ways. Their mother, Kathy Hilton, a child actress who, as Kathy Richards, played a supporting role in the ???60s TV sitcom Family Affair, looks back on childhood videos of her girls and confesses that she painted them with make-up even as toddlers. ???I was just a kid myself,??? shrugs Kathy, now all of 39. She still calls Paris her childhood nickname, Star, and not surprisingly, Paris demands star treatment.
These are not ladies who lunch. They want only to party. Rumors of the girls??? antics at the Sundance Film Festival in Park City, Utah, earlier this year, teeter between awful and over-the-top. Nicky reportedly disrupted a rock concert at one star-studded party by refusing to yield the stage. Paris, clad in a leopard-skin print tuxedo and little else, danced on a coffee table after liberally lubricating her throat with vodka, it was claimed.

Nor do the girls confine their antics to Sundance. At Las Vegas strip club Crazy Horse Too last year, Paris took over the VIP room with a brunette Playboy pal. But when a mutual male friend received too much attention from the strippers, Paris reportedly threw a tantrum. The dancers called security guards, who, mistaking her for another stripper, asked for identification. Paris???s response was to yell: ???I don???t need ID. My grandfather built this town! Don???t you ever read the newspaper? Can you guys even read????
Paris almost got into a catfight after stealing a boyfriend from actress Natasha Lyonne. When Natasha, best known for her role in American Pie, saw Paris she snarled, ???F***ing slut???, and left before things turned ugly at the party attended by Prince Albert of Monaco.

Paris Hilton Teenage imageThe boys in the Hiltons??? lives read like a Hollywood casting call. High School senior Nicky was spotted at New York???s Centro-Fly club canoodling with Detroit Rock City film star Jimmy DeBello. And who hasn???t been seen with Paris? Early last year she was a fixture on the arm of Titanic hunk Leonardo DiCaprio. At a Las Vegas party she switched allegiances and spent the night smooching lustily with Terminator 2 star Edward Furlong.
And when Furlong spent a month in drug and alcohol rehab in Los Angeles, Paris lost no time romancing boxing champion Oscar de la Hoya. The couple met at the first anniversary of the opening of the Sunset Room nightclub in Los Angeles, and left together in the boxer???s limo. They were seen dining at Robert De Niro???s Hollywood restaurant, Ago. Paris even attended Prince William???s 18th birthday party, friends disclose.

The Hilton girls display a disturbing penchant for reveling too much, it seems. When Paris sang karaoke at New York???s hot club Moomba last year, she threw off a long coat to reveal fishnet stockings, a G-string and a see-through camisole. At a party at the Hard Rock Hotel in Las Vegas, she peeled down her leopard skin print catsuit and ran topless around the pool, much to the delight of bright young Hollywood things Vince Vaughn, Jon Favreau and Alexis Arquette.
And one notorious paparazzi snap with a revealing view up her skirt, displaying Paris???s disdain for undergarments, became an e-mail favourite right across America. Yet Paris laments: ???People think I???m just this party girl. Well, I???m not. I don???t go to parties. I wake up in the morning and go to auditions. I was going to college, but I decide to take a year off.???

Yet egregious excess appears to have paid dividends. Paris Hilton signed up with billionaire Donald Trump???s modeling agency, T Management, last June.
???Paris wants to have a modeling and acting career. I think it is wonderful that she is standing on her own two feet,??? says the agency???s president, Annie Veltri.
She quickly won a job modeling Iceberg jeans, and has already finished shooting an independent film, playing the title role in teen thriller Sweetie Pie. Recently she won the role of a ???cyber-goddess??? in the movie Chromiumblue.com, being made by Wild Orchid director Zalman King.

Paris has also been recording her first songs in a fledgling musical career, and is developing a cosmetics line with her sister ??? aptly called Paris & Nicky. But the Hilton hellions??? wild nights are winning them few friends in the East Coast???s more refined social circles.
???Today, we have girls on the social scene who don???t know the first thing about being ladies,??? flame one blueblood hostess. Paris and Nicky ???are like partners in bitch crime,??? said a family friend.
Members of the Hilton family are said to be horrified by the girls??? antics. ???I???m ashamed that Paris and Nicky are related to me,??? said Celeste Hines, a fourth-generation Hilton.
Even some of their friends have turned on them. ???It???s like all she (Paris) wants to do is become famous, to wipe out the past to become somebody else,??? says one. She offers an even sadder judgement on Nicky, saying, ???She???s trying to be Paris.???

But the girls do have their supporters. ???It???s only bitter people who say these things about them,??? says a close friend, Samantha Benson. Understandably, their mother is even more defensive. ???There are people who get jealous and say Nicky is a snob or Paris is a snob. I know. I???ve heard it. But I think they???re pretty sweet kids.???
Paris offers her own assessment ??? an exercise in potentially destructive self-delusion. ???I???m a teenager,??? she insists. ???I???m jus a normal kid.???
