Little Bianca Ryan with grown-up singing skills and amazing voice just won $1 million on America’s Got Talent Thursday Night. When Bianca Ryan’s name was announced, the 11-year-old’s jaw shocked and overwhelmed, she could barely answer host Regis Philbin’s questions.
“You all right? Bianca, how do you feel darling? You OK?” Philbin said.
“Oh my god, I don’t even know!” a stunned Ryan said as tears streamed down her face.
“I thought he was going to say ‘after the break,’ I didn’t know he was going to announce it right away,” she said, reports People.
Her performance of Janis Joplin’s “Piece of My Heart” earned her excellent reviews that finally let her stand out from other participants. Her winning proving Piers Morgan, a British TV personality and former editor of the Daily Mirror, right, he said to Ryan Wednesday night after her soulful performance of Janis Joplin’s “Piece of My Heart”: “I think you’re going to win the competition.”
The Hoff, who compared Bianca’s vocal chops to those of Liza Minnelli’s, was not surprised that Ryan took home the big prize. “The first time we heard Bianca on the show I thought well, we can go home now,” he told PEOPLE. “The first time we heard Bianca on the show I thought well, we can go home now,” said David Hasselhoff, one of the show’s judges.
The show’s other judge, singer Brandy, felt the exact same way and said that “she could be as big as Mariah Carey.â€
After treating her family, Ryan asked what she’s going to do next, Ryan responded: “Act, of course! I want a show on the Disney Channel.”
Her rendition of Janis Joplin’s “Piece of My Heart” earned rave reviews.
Franklin’s Taylor Ware, 11,yodeled her way into the top three NBC’s “America’s Got Talent,” but failed to win the prize. Ware, who won a national Yahoo yodeling competition, earned several standing ovations and made it into the program’s top 10 before the winner was announced last night.
A whole new crop of people hoping to receive national recognition for whatever it is they do will get a chance to live the dream next year when the second season of America’s Got Talent kicks off in January. The program was created by “American Idol” judge Simon Cowell and FremantleMedia, the company that produces the Fox hit singing contest.
The show pitted hundreds of people with varying talents — ranging from singing to magic — in multi-week competition.
