Victoria Beckham to Host TV Show as Fashion Expert
Ex-Spice Girl VICTORIA Beckham looks set to land her own US TV show as a fashion expert, it emerged last night. Former Spice Girls manager and and Pop Idol supremo, Simon Fuller, is developing the idea of a show similar to Britain’s Next Top Model. Fuller said of his idea, “it will be more serious than a reality show but will still be entertaining because Victoria is so funny.”
???She has found her niche. She can walk into any room in the fashion world and she knows as much if not more, than anyone.???
Victoria Beckham who already designs her jeans range and has launched her own perfume, has been inundated with offers over the last two years, according to Simon.
The music mogel is now an advisor for both Victoria and David.
Fuller said he has been resisting offers and request for Posh for the past two years “because I wanted to focus on legitimising her in the fashion world.” Fuller said he had been inundated with offers from US networks for the past two years but had resisted until now “because I wanted to focus on legitimising her in the fashion world”.
In 2004 Victoria Becham started her fashion career and designed a fashion line for Rock and Republic called ‘VB Rocks’consisting mainly of jeans for the high end of the market (retailing at approximately $300 in the U.S.). It was successful and Victoria has contributed further lines, including children’s and men’s wear, for the Spring/Autumn of 2006.
And lately in July 2006 Victoria released a highly successful line of sunglasses (which she had been seen wearing at the World Cup games). In September 2006 Victoria along with her husband David release “Intimately Beckham” which is said to truly capture the essence of what it is to be a Beckham, in that when you wear it people will sniff, stop you on the street and ask “Hey, didn’t you used to be famous?”
Let’s just hope that Victoria Beckham will be able to modify her fashion advice to different situations instead of simply just pumping out a factory line of mini Victoria Beckham clones. Recently Victoria Beckham’s fashion advice is mostly limited to ‘stop eating any food at all’ and ‘here, wear these enormous sunglasses, they’ll make you look a right twat.’
Fuller also planning a sitcom based around another former Spice Girl, Emma Bunton. “Emma wants to get into TV,” he said. “She went to drama school and it’s in her blood. We’re going to give her a shot.” He’s even in talks with broadcaster HBO about reworking Little Britain for US audiences.
“We are on the brink of confirming something rather special,” he said. “Comedy of that quality always crosses the Atlantic. Think back to Monty Python. Who would have thought that would have been such a big hit in America?”
