What can you do in one month? You can change the appearance of your eyes altogether if you want to. A period of one month will allow time for surgical procedures from relatively non-invasive collagen injections to full-on, more permanent cosmetic surgery such as brow and eyelid lifts.

Plump it up. Collagen is the most common temporary injectable anti-wrinkle treatment and it can be used virtually anywhere on your face to smooth out lines and acne scars. The most common areas for injections are lips and cow’s-feet.

The full recovery time is about three to four weeks, meaning that after the “holiday” you take from work for recovery time, you’ll look refreshed, younger and less tired around the eyes. Costing anywhere between $2500 and $4000, it is one of the most popular cosmetic surgery procedures. However, it does have some significant drawbacks. Consider first that there will be bruising and swelling around the eye area for about 10 days. Scars are also an inevitable result of any surgery. A surgeon makes the best effort to keep the scars in your natural skin lines and creases, and therefore most are inconspicuous. The scars also usually fade with time. Other side effects may include temporary blurred vision or excessive tear production. The surgery does not remove the appearance of fine “smile” lines at the outer corners of the eyes, neither can it remove deep creases in the eyelids themselves.

Brow lift. A brow lift is designed to improve the wrinkling and sagging of the eyebrows which occurs with the ageing process. Incisions are usually placed behind the hairline, from ear to ear. Excess skin and tissue are removed and the skin is pulled tighter before stitches are applied to keep the brow taut. The procedure can also be performed endoscopically (by keyhole surgery), which results in less scarring. A series of small incisions are made in the hailine, where the surgeon uses an enscope, or tiny camera, to guide the removal of muscles and excess tissue from inside the brow. The eyebrows are then lifted to reduce sagging skin at the eyelid level. Whether performed endoscopically or not, the procedure lasts between one and two hours ans swelling and bruising will follow for 10 to 20 days. Cold compresses can help to eliminate such swelling, but it is likely that patients will also experience some numbness or itching as the incisions heal. The price usually ranges from $3000 to $5000 for the brow lift alone, but it is often combined with blepharoplasty, so the price can vary.
