Baby Suri Photos Debut, Asian Look?

Baby Suri Photos on Vaniti Fair magazine picFinally, after much media speculation regarding the existence of Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes baby daughter Suri, fuelled by the fact that the couple had not allowed the child to be photographed at all, the infant’s first pictures are finally out on the glossy pages of Vanity Fair magazine alongside her beaming parents. Published four-and-a-half months after her April birth, not just does Suri, with a cherubic face and a shock of dark hair, make her debut on the cover of Vanity Fair magazine, but she does it in style, with a 22-page family album shot by none other than legendary photographer Annie Leibowitz for the October issue.
The feature shows the Cruises as new, thrilled parents. “She has Kate’s lips and eyes,” Tom says of Suri. “I think she looks like Kate.” Holmes counters, “I think she has Tom’s eyes. I think she looks like Tom.”

The new issue of Vanity Fair comes out tomorrow and in it Katie Holmes discusses how much she hates all the celebrity blog sites. “Some of the crap that’s out there – the stuff that’s said about my parents and my siblings [tabloid accounts implied that Katie's family did not hit it off with Tom] – it’s really frustrating the amount of s**t that’s out there. And the stuff they say about Suri?! You shouldn’t say that about us, and you can’t say that about my child,” Holmes said in an interview inside the magazine.
Holmes explains that the gossip “eats away at me because it’s just not O.K.,” but that she keeps up on it because “this is my future. This is my family, and I care so much about them.
“To see how someone as caring and good as Tom is – to see how things can just get so twisted and turned around. I mean, where does it come from?” added the actress.

The photographs of the dark-haired baby born to Tom Cruise and actress Katie Holmes on April 18 were televised during a segment of the Evening News show on US network CBS, on which presenter Katie Couric was making her debut. “We knew this would be a very exciting show – that everyone would be curious to see Katie on her first night. So, what better place to debut Vanity Fair’s exclusive cover featuring baby Suri and her parents,” the magazine spokeswoman Beth Kseniak said.
She said the magazine paid nothing for the photographs and unlike pictures of Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt’s first child together, there was no deal tied to a charity.

Suri Asian Look PhotoThe photo shots have also raised further questions on gossip blogs and websites about Suri’s true parentage. They questioned why Suri looks older than she was when the photos were taken and Suri looks like two different babies in the October issue of Vanity Fair – just like the sets of twins television and movie producers routinely use to portray one infant character.
People also been left wondering whether either of her parents have an Asian ancestor, because Suris looks Asian in descent.
Website Jossip cheekily wonders whether or not Suri’s delicate, almond-shaped eyes, the milky, pale-ish skin tone, the striking mane of dark, dark hair will lead to an article in Vanity Fair magazine as to why the tiny tot”has Lucy Liu’s eyes” in “six years”. And website Gawker posted an Asiatic-looking parody shot of the baby–something that quickly spread around the Internet and prompted a disclaimer.

Canadian gossip chronicler Elaine Lui, the woman behind Lainey’s Entertainment Update said, “The child is absolutely adorable. Gorgeous, actually,” she writes. “But then again, perhaps I’m biased? Is it just me or do you see a subtle trace of my people in her features?”
“Today, the debate is already raging all over the Internet – who does the baby look like, does she look like the parents, does she look like any of her ex-boyfriends, how old was the baby – these photos were apparently taken in July and some people think the child looks too big to be only three months old.”
