With 14 modeling contracts, including campaigns for Burberry, Calvin Klein, Roberto Cavalli, Dior, Louis Vuitton, David Yurman and Versace, you’d think Kate Moss’s plate would be not just full but overflowing. The British beauty supermodel Kate Moss is moving off the catwalk to create her very own clothes line for the U.K.’s Topshop, it has been confirmed. She is teaming up with the high street giant to produce her own line, in a deal worth a reputed ??3-million (about R40-million).
The model, who has seen her career soar as late, was seen sat next to the chain’s billionaire owner Phillip Green during London Fashion Week.

Philip Green, the head of the company’s parent group Arcadia,, who owns Topshop???s parent group Arcadia, struck the deal personally after meeting Moss and deciding they should work together. ???We want to build this into a global brand,??? he told WWD. ???She is a fashion icon in terms of the UK??? and this is what Topshop is all about in terms of fashion. Our customers identify with her.??? Topshop bosses are confident the collection – which will be available in the chain’s 308 stores from next spring – will help establish the clothing chain in America. The company is opening its first stores in the US next year.
Topshop’s support for designers such as the Swedish-born Ann-Sofie Back, who showed her spring collection yesterday at London Fashion Week, is to its credit.

Topshop’s brand director Jane Shepherdson said: “Kate is Britain’s biggest style icon, she has a great eye and is a regular Topshop customer. “Both Topshop and Kate Moss epitomise British fashion so a collaboration between us makes perfect sense.”
Moss added: “I have always been a big fan of Topshop and regularly shop there. I love what they stand for and am very excited at the thought of working with them.”

Kate Moss sets the seal on a triumphant comeback for the fashion queen since her career has gone from strength to strength since her cocaine expose last year, and admits she is very “excited” to be working with one of her favourite brands.
Away from the catwalk, Ms Moss’ own wardrobe choices have given her a reputation for setting new fashion trends. In recent years she has been credited with sparking the return to fashion of skinny jeans, mini-dresses and hot-pants.
