Jewish Miss France, the blonde Alexandra Rosenfeld, has won the Miss Europe 2006 title in hot rivalry held in Kyiv, Ukraine, which hosted the annual contest for the first time. The beauty queen Alexandra Rosenfeld, 19, from the southern Languedoc region, who won Miss France last year scooped the additional crown at a gala ceremony in the Ukrainian capital Kiev beating 33 other contestants.

This wild party girl warns readers: “All it takes is one drink to mess with the way you drive - it clouds your judgment and slows your reflexes. Don’t take any chances. Paris Hilton was stopped and arrested on September 7 in Los Angeles for allegedly driving under the influence of alcohol. When asked why she was driving like a drunk? (Hilton says she only had one drink that night.)

Ang Mo Kio GRC MP Wee Siew Kim reported apologized Thursday in The Straits Times (24 Oct 2006) for remarks his daughter made on her Internet journal and his own comments about Singaporeans worried over jobs. “We both apologize to the people whom we have offended,” said Wee Siew Kim in his statement. Both Wee Siew Kim and her daughter, the principal of RJC, told The Straits Times yesterday that she had been counselled for using insensitive language. In his statement, Wee Siew Kim stood by her “basic point” that the well-educated should get on with challenges in life rather than complain to the government about them. “As a parent, I may not have inculcated the appropriate level of sensitivity, but she has learnt a lesson,” he added.

Reality TV star Nicole Richie, whose rail thin appearance in recent photos has stoked tabloid speculation that she has an eating disorder, is taking a break from “The Simple Life” to do something most of us find pretty simple to do: gain weight, and checked into a private medical treatment facility to seek help. “Nicole Richie has decided to undergo diagnostic treatment to determine why she’s not been putting on any weight,” the socialite representatives tells PEOPLE in a statement. “She is working with a team of doctors and specialists whose focus is nutrition. It is important to Nicole that she achieves this goal in a healthy way as this is not a treatment for an eating disorder.” Richie’s publicist stressed this is not treatment for an eating disorder, but a series of diagnostic tests.

This could be a good news for many women with unexpected pregnancy in Australia since they will be able to access pregnancy support counselling three times during their pregnancy on Medicare from next week. This new Australian government-funded pregnancy counseling program designed to help pregnant women find abortion alternatives.
Pregnant women or those concerned about a pregnancy in the past 12 months will receive a $55 Medicare rebate for seeking counselling from a GP, psychologist, social worker or mental health nurse on their referral. The program is part of a $50 million package the Australian government announced to try to cut the abortion rates following the parliament’s approval of the dangerous abortion drug RU 486 with a 24-hour advice hotline for pregnant women.
