Miley Cyrus has gained a lot of attention over the past several months with a seriers of racy photos. Playboy’s octogenarian boss Hugh Hefner has said he is interested in having Miley Cyrus in his adult magazine when she will turn 18. “Sure, she’d be welcomed in the magazine,” he told Extra. “Very pretty lady.” I wonder how Disney feels about this overture. No stranger to controversy, Hefner made a similar plea to Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen before they turned eighteen, but the twins took a pass. I assume Miley Cyrus will do the same.
The invitation comes after the release of Vanity Fair photos showing the 15-year-old clad only in a satin sheet with her back exposed. The images sparked considerable controversy and led to an apology from the young singer. “I think to make such a big to do over something as innocent as those photos, I think is a reflection on how schizophrenic America is about sexuality,” said Hefner. Hef said the Olsen twins, naked, together, is every young man’s fantasy, but the bobble heads passed.
Meanwhile, Disney Channel’s “Hannah Montana” star Cyrus insists that she is nothing like the girl portrayed in the controversial Vanity Fair magazine pictures, and she makes more “modest” fashion choices in real life.
“All the clothes — all the short skirts and all that stuff — my mom would never in a million years let me leave the house like that. So I think that a really cool thing that everyone’s doing now is layering, just to keep yourself modest and cute,” the 15-year-old said.
While Cyrus said she was embarrassed by sexually provocative photos of her that were recently posted online and another photo of her wrapped only in a bed sheet that was published in “Vanity Fair,†Hefner describes them as innocent. “I think to make such a big to do over something as innocent as those photos, I think is a reflection on how schizophrenic America is about sexuality,” he said.
Miley Cyrus, who’s at the tender age of 15, hasn’t replied to Hefner’s request, but was overhead saying that ‘in three years the old coot might be dead’! Cyrus make recent headlines by posing near topless for Vanity Fair magazine. All the while her parents were present at the photo shoot and did litttle to prevent the exploitation of their underage daughter.
As for Hugh’s opinion on Miley’s recent nude photo scandal: “To make such a big to-do over something as innocent as those photos — I think it’s a reflection of how schizophrenic America is about sexuality.â€
Rather, I was shocked that this young girl was having to defend herself against a media onslaught that lives for scandal to the point that they will create one out of thin air if necessary. Disney had better back their star or risk a backlash for caring about the money she earns for them instead of caring for the vulnerable 15-year-old child.
