Dandruff is one of the most annoying hair problems we can ever experience. It is actually caused by the dead skin cells that accumulate in the head and piling up excessively. For normal condition, the dead skin cells on the scalp should be lifted little by little without seen. However, for those who have scalp problems especially due to infections caused by fungus, excessive irritation and skin secretions would likely make the dead skin cells piling up and peeled off. Irritated scalp or other scalp problems can also form scales and dandruff.
There is a traditional way to take care of your scalp if you are having dandruff problem. Try the following anti-dandruff recipe which uses pineapple, noni fruit, and apple juice.
Pineapple Anti-Dandruff Recipe
Ingredients:
100 cc lime juice
200 cc pineapple juice
100 cc coconut milk
Directions:
Mix all of the ingredients, put in a small container and cover. Use the mixture 3 to 4 times a week as shampoo.
Noni Fruit Anti-Dandruff Recipe (as formulated by Prof. HM. Hembing Wijayakusuma)
Ingredients:
2-3 ripe noni fruits
Directions:
Clean the noni fruits, then grate them. Add some water and stir well, then apply on the scalp and gently massage the head.
Re-apply the grated noni onto the scalp evenly, let dry, and then rinse with water.
Use this recipe 3 times a week until the itching and dandruff disappeared.
Apple Juice Hair Tonic Recipe
Ingredients:
2 tbs apple juice
2 tbs warm water
Directions:
Mix both ingredients and apply to the scalp before washing your hair. Massage the scalp until the mixture evenly spreaded.
Leave it for 15 to 20 minutes, then rinse.
Use this hair tonic once in a week, and see the result within the third week.
Fruits which contain high antioxidant can help overcoming dandruff. So, other than applying the fruits as hairmask, tonic, or shampoo, consuming them can also help maintaining the health of your skin and hair.
