Summer is identical with colorful items, and this is perhaps what Deborah Lloyd had in mind when giving out Kate Spade’s Spring/Summer collection this year. The creative director of the Kate Spade fashion house had opted for the cheerful and eye-popping tones from the ‘80s blinding color palette before releasing this season’s collections.
Look at the handbags collection which is inspired by the vibrating atmosphere of the ‘80s. They are really fuelling up our style ambition to promote some of the unique and eerie accessories during this warm season. The Kate Spade designer team seemed to be really working on magic on the classiest tailoring patterns envisioned by some of the venerated accessory creators as the Chanel fashion house. The difference is, the chain bags and stylish clutches of Kate Spade were dipped into candy color and enhanced with a tint of glamorous radiance. Even the classy black printed handbags find their prominent place in the same collection with the neon colored clutches as well as sight-challenging bags. This has shown how Kate Spade still preserves some hints of the old time class designs with their versatile and one-of-a-kind perspective.
You can evidence precise and feminine detailing meets the punked-up color palette which creates perfect fusion to offer these accessories a front row position in our closet. Spring and summer are the best season paired with the dream about faraway, exotic, tropical lands. Designer Simon Kneen has definitely captured that longing for a dream-like, exotic journey in his spring and summer collections in the Banana Republic Spring/Summer 2011 Collection held last year.
“You’ve packed your essential pieces. You’ve packed your cargo pants, and you’re all set for a journey of discovery and exploration. You have multiple stops along the way where you find all these wonderful things from different places. And you pick them up and combine them with what you are wearing. That’s really the idea we adopted for this collection,” he said in an interview conducted backstage.
His collections mostly reflected an adventurous journey to many different lands with their own uniqueness. The style is dynamic, forward-moving, and gives much freedom. Although there were many emphasizes on flowers, loose materials and neutral shades, the idea was putting many different things together in one collection.
“I think it reflects the way we dress. We mix and match, it is no longer about head-to-toe uniform,” he said. Read more of Simon Kneen’s “Faraway Dream” Style
