Lady Gaga has recently been criticized for exploiting her LGBT (Lesbian Gay Bisexual Transgender) fans to sell her records. The critic would have likely come after a recent interaction she had with a young gay man who was in the military. The guy told her that America’s fight for equality has given him hope, and to express his grateful for Gaga’s song “Born This Way”, he gave her his service jacket.

Knowing that the incident had raised claims about her records selling, Gaga said that it was one of the most ridiculous statements a person made about her. “My love for my gay fans is just pure, authentic love for them as supporters of me from the beginning, and me feeling connected to their struggles as someone who is a part of their fight,” she told The Advocate magazine. She also said to PopEater that the top thing she thinks about every day other than her fans, loving the music, and her family being healthy, is social justice and equality. And that was the main theme of her latest song.

She stated about her song that it is not about just being born in one moment, but about being reborn over and over again until you finally become that unique and special person inside of you who can bravely and surely ready to take on the world. “And I was born this way. And that’s who I am,” said the pop star. “The song is meant to be liberating not only from an individual perspective but from a creative perspective,” added Gaga who admitted that she considers herself as a member of the LGBT community. The legendary American singer Patricia Louis Holt Edwads, also known as Patti LaBelle, was honored with the Lifetime Achievement Award on Sunday, at the annual 2011 BET Awards.

Cee Lo Green, Beyonce, Mary J.Blige and others, are among the top ranked celebrities who paid tribute to Patti LaBelle. Green even surprisingly performed her song “Somebody Loves You,” with his choice of costume, which actually resembles LaBelle’s style – sparkly jacket and spiky wig that he sprayed with hair spray. Well, that wasn’t Green’s only surprising action as he also managed to slip in a curse word during the live telecast. His action of calling the crowd “mother—ers” was slipped through censors for the live East Coast airing.

Other performers who took the stage were Shirley Ceaser and Marsha Ambrosius, who performed LaBelle’s “If Only You Knew”. List of praises came from Beyonce, Blige, and Gladys Knight; Beyonce told the audience: “When anyone asks me who I want to be like, I always say Patti LaBelle,” while Blige added: “Patti’s voice is the most powerful thing on earth.” Knight then weighed in by saying, “Music is forever indebted to you for following your calling.”

No one would ever doubt the astounding voice of Christina Aguilera, but as a professional singer, shouldn’t she be good enough in memorizing any song lyrics as well, especially the National Anthem?

Responsible in singing ‘The Star-Spangled Banner’ before the kickoff of Super Bowl XLV on 6th February, Christina Aguilera badly failed to memorize the lyrics halfway through the song.

Instead of singing “O’er the ramparts we watched were so gallantly streaming”, she turned it into “what so proudly we watched at the twilight’s last”, which didn’t sound like an intelligible lyric at all.

Gladly, she followed the next line correctly – “rocket’s red glare”- which she nailed and got the packed Cowboys Stadium quickly on her side.

Of course this disaster brought such drastic reactions from the crowd, that there was a hush fell over the stadium and everyone was looking at each other.

After completing her task, Aguilera headed backstage and there was a source said that the singer was devastated by her mistake. She didn’t want anyone around her even though everyone was telling her she was great. “She knows she messed up big time, It’s an honor to be asked (to sing the National Anthem), and she let America and herself down,” says the source. The 44th annual Country Music Association Award, or CMA, has been held on last Wednesday in Nashville. Hosted by Carrie Underwood and Brad Paisley, the show featured a handful of high-profile singers and performances. But the biggest moments in the show was made by someone that anyone did not expect before.

Actress Gwyneth Paltrow had made her first live country singing debut on the CMA stage, and earned many standing applauses, including from three-times CMA winner Miranda Lambert. Her song, “Country Song,” is a theme song for her upcoming film with the same name, in which Paltrow plays an up-and-coming country singer.

“Gwyneth is a great singer,” Miranda Lambert said to Ok! Magazine. “I’ve never got to meet her, but she did a great job, and I think she’s probably really country, and I think she really seems very genuine, and can’t lose with Vince Gill. You can’t mess up if you’ve got that going.”

Lady Antebellum, the night’s two-times winner, also expressed the same admiration. “We were sitting behind her. We know it sounds great on the radio, but then to hear it live – I mean, she sounded just like her record. I was absolutely, completely blown away.
